Welcome to my new blog

I never cease to be amazed at how absurd some of the decisions and statements that are made, particularly by bureaucrats and especially by people working in the public sector. Often, the comments are made in all seriousness but to the general public they seem absurd. In addition, the decisions made by these faceless bureaucrats  can be frustrating – the ‘elf & safety brigade are one example where risk assessment needs to be implemented in order to erect, say,  bunting for a street party to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

Occasionally, the outcome of a decision can be much more serious – even tragic. A couple of day’s ago, I read that a  charity worker drowned in a three foot deep lake in Hampshire after rescuers were refused permission to rescue him for health and safety reasons.

‘You just couldn’t make it up’, I have said to myself when reading about some of the politically correct or health and safety decisions. So I thought I would start a blog on the subject.
